On the roof!
Well, it was going to be a blip of the Ochre Quarries at Roussillon, as that was where we went this morning. There are pictures here if you are interested. However, we didn’t stay long; as usual crowds arrived and the whole place became very busy. So we retreated before the morning was over and left them all to it.
Then this afternoon, after buying wine and pottery in the village, we stopped in on a bar, which has a terrace overlooking the Luberon. It’s quite high up and the views are wonderful. I was playing with the camera, taking pictures of the roofs we were looking down on. There wasn’t much point taking pictures of the vista, as there was a heat haze over everything.
Then I noticed these two! The house they were re roofing is three floors high and they were just wandering along the ridge and the roof itself with no problem. They were laying the grids and then started adding the tiles. We loved the bucket on the chimney! Large is more scary!
So there you have it. Roofs and workmen. Life in our village. Well, it will be ours until tomorrow and then we're away.
