Special memory
(for heartfreek's "special" challenge)
Several years ago now I was lucky enough to visit Patagonia, and one of the places we went to was the Mount Fitzroy range in Argentina.
We had waited for three of four days for the mountain to appear from under its cloud "hat" and it was only on the last evening and the morning on which we were leaving that this happened and we were able to see not just Mt Fitzroy but the entire range including the "towers"
Since then I have been "playing" with a constructed panorama made up from about 7 individual shots taken consecutively, trying to get something that speaks for the place (rather than what we necessary witnessed), and eventually came up with this by "tweaking" the sky and foreground to make an almost abstract view.
I then decided I would have it printed and framed professionally, and my original idea was to then have it framed within a black mount and frame. The problem was that, try as the framers might, they could not find a black mat to match the printed tone.
After much to-ing and fro-ing therefore, we agreed to try it in a block mount with a narrow black border. The completed thing measures approx 100cm x 30
I'm delighted with it.
Good to have a framer interested enough to play as well!
Now all I have to do is to find a suitable wall...
Hopefully there is enough "edge" in this to meet DDW's challenge too!
