Third Year Abroad

For our third day of uni it turned out that our 12:30 class had been cancelled... Luckily it meant that I could actually do some productive things like get my certificate of arrival signed for Edinburgh and then sit out in the sun. We had our first churros as well, shared two portions between four and that was still too much! The faculty cafe is great, massive portions for only a couple of euros. Then on to our second class of the day, which as it happened was also only the second class of the week that wasn't cancelled. And it was total chaos. First of all we couldn't hear the lecturer because she didn't have a microphone. Eventually she asked the room whether we could hear her to which she was greeted with a resounding no. Half way through the lecture a group of women came bursting in and started moving some of the furniture around, I'm still unsure as to what aim, but it did seem to culminate in our lecturer being given a microphone. After this things calmed down a little although the lecture was more like a conversation between the lecturer and other members of the class. That's the other main difference I've noticed with lectures here, in Edinburgh the majority of the lecture will shrink away at any sign of class participation but here they seem to jump at the opportunity.

Having had an early night the day before, Wednesday evening was set to be another big one. A Colombian girl we know had all here friends over so it started with food and drinks in her flat. Then, having been shouted at by a Spanish lady for being too loud, we ended up going out. Unfortunately no one had any exact idea of where we were going so we ended up at three different places, gradually losing people along the way until there were only four of us left at Granada 1o, I think possibly the biggest club in Granada. Despite having lost the majority of our group, another fun and, unsurprisingly, late night.
