An ordinary life....

Don't Get in a Flap, Jack...

Or a caramel cake, Jake!

These are some of the left over goodies from last night's manual handling training and meeting. Shop bought not homemade and I have to say sadly lacking in taste other than tongue ulcerating sweetness. Once you've got used to homemade goodies shop bought just never tastes the same. Thankfully I have two over ripe bananas in the fruit bowl so a wee banana loaf might be in the offing if I can summon up enough energy.

Last night's MH training and subsequent meeting was long and tiring but necessary and I'm glad it's been done.

First part of the get together from 4.30 till just after 7 focussed on moving and handling Alan safely whilst ensuring the "handler" was also not at risk from injury. Looked at all Alan's equipment including the car so from now on both Marion and Eddie will have more freedom to take Alan out and about.

After the trainer left Rachel, Marion and Eddie stayed and we had dinner together followed by a meeting to discuss how Marion and Eddie see their involvement with Alan after he leaves school next year. We need to see where any gaps in care will be and recruit more helpers as necessary. It was all very positive. They are such good people.

Didn't get to bed till after midnight and today I have a huge list of things to do and organise, especially since David is away at the crack of dawn on Saturday and won't be back till Tuesday, but I am too tired to do any more at the mo.

A wee sit down before Alan gets in from school will hopefully give me my second wind.

The answer is easy if you take it logically :))
