Best laid plans

This pipe organ is being installed in the cathedral, it will be only the second one in Japan I believe. There has been much debate over the the purchase cost of it and the ongoing cost of maintenance (in a country with such high humidity) verses the charitable work which could have been funded with the same amount of money (which is eye wateringly large.)

It's not my place to comment on the ethics involved in such a decision however you can imagine the surprise I had upon arriving at the cathedral this afternoon to see it in this condition. I was there to set up for tomorrows very special service, only to discover that the organ is nowhere near installed and half the cathedral is taken up with boxes, equipment and workmen (especially flown in from the UK.) Not sure where I'm going to put a congregation of 300? In the boxes perhaps?

All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine.
