Vineyards
A proof that even on a completely inhospitable tropical island, where it only rains for about two weeks every year, where dry wastelands, volcanic lava flows and volcanic ash cover most of the terrain, where there is no sources of drinkable water and the temperatures never go lower than 19 degrees but winds can get fierce, where almost all food and everyday things have to be imported from Spain, where grass is a luxury and houses are built to prevent too much sun getting in - even here people found a way to grow vines and produce amazing local wines.
The walls protect plants from the winds and the volcanic ash based soil is extremely fertile, apparently each of these straggly bushes can produce up to 25 kg of grapes in season.
