that man again

but one i'd happily see every week if i could - hell, hang out every day and tell me stories, that's fine! as it was, we spent an hour in the same room (plus 599 other people - this is the book fest, not 'blind date') and he read (unfortunately the same bit of 'the graveyard book' that he read when i saw him last year, but it's a lovely one, and we got a swift 'blueberry girl', which i think is wonderful), then answered a few questions (kudos to the person who asked about character naming, that was a good one). then about 590 of us trooped outside to form an orderly Q for signing... 90 minutes later (and he was only signing one thing) i got to the front of the Q, got my 30 seconds (and he signed two books for me, 'BG' as gifts for friends with baby girls), got my pic and came home happy. (then took my headache to bed for a while, urg - sorry R, i did want that pint, i just couldn't cope with the idea of hot noisy bar and conversation! coffee for sure tho.)

last night i said to L, who was at the gig with me, that i needed more music, and more live music specifically, in my life - that if i went to a good gig every week i'd be the sanest person in the city. to a lesser extent, book fest events are like that - a little balm for the soul. esp when they are neil gaiman events!

PS please note the ink-stained hand and the fountain pen - *classy*

EDIT: this is blip #450 - i know that's not one to celebrate officially, but i'm feeling pretty good about getting this far!
