This is, what for many years was known as, Donaldson's School for the Deaf. It is now officially known as Donaldson's College. It has lain empty since 2008, and is now for sale (again) as a potential luxury hotel or residential properties. Anyone interested can look here to see the details. It is now difficult to see the building as the gates are usually closed. This morning the west gates were open, so I went in a short distance. The dreich weather actually reduced the contrast so the result is quite pleasing. The deaf kids used to play football on the grass in front of the school and they were surprisingly noisy. The school is now in purpose built facilities in Linlithgow, presumably built as a result of the sale of the Edinburgh site to Cala homes for £15 million. It is a Grade A listed building and a feature of the west end.
