Mums

I think that mums are pretty "ho-hum" as flowers go. I like them okay, & I always have 2 or 3 in the yard to give it some color when most everything else is done blooming, but they aren't spectacular , like some of the other flowers--around here they always usher in the fall! But I took this photo of one of the flower heads, & it always amazes me how different things look when you see them "up close". The petals are actually very pretty! (well, for a mum!) :)
