"I'm not sure if we want to go ahead with it yet but if we do it has got to start on Monday" How on earth are you supposed to deal with that enquiry? Its like we should keep every Monday free just in case this person or his counterpart elsewhere phones us up on the off chance. I get this scenario regularly.
