Helsinki

This is the statue of famous Finnish author, Aleksis Kivi in front of the National Theatre in Helsinki.

We arrived here after an overnight ferry from Stockholm although ferry is not a word I'd use to describe the boat it was massive like a cruise ship and OMG the buffet was amazing so much choice of food. I was surprised at how small the city was and it was another beautiful sunny day. We didn't stay overnight in the city but drove onto to a place called Espoo as first thing Wednesday was going to be a long drive across the Russian border headed to St. Petersburg.

At the end of the Scandinavian link of my trip I have learned that:-

1. Apparently I look Danish and have Danish hair!! Everyone spoke to me in Danish as first choice language.
2. In Sweden people also assumed I was a local and spoke to me in Swedish.
3. Guess what it also happened in Finland and I even had someone ask me for directions - lol
