What Matters in Jane Austen?

This book needs to go back to the library. I loved the insights on the world of Austen but it was a bit heavy for pleasure reading. The reader ought to be intimately acquainted with all of Austen's novels to appreciate the references so I picked my way through, reading just the sections about "Emma" and "Northanger Abbey" - the two novels I just reread (I'm working my way through all six of Austen's books now...I'd like to check this book out again when I finish.)
