By candlelight

For hundreds of years, candles were a primary source of light. Today most of us reserve candles for a special occasion; however, there's something very calming about candlelight.

It's been a busy day today, from one meeting to the next and work still to do on arrival at home (including moving a whole laptop's data from my old one to this) and before Graham called me for a meal he has prepared i thought i'd better find a subject for today's blip.

I've had this candle in the dining room for several year and have never thought to light it, but was amazed by the wonderful glow it gave as it began to burn. I'm pleased with this capture, not only because I think it shows the warmth and radience the flame gives, but also because it has reminded me of how much i love candlelight.

Therefore tonight, when all my work is finished I intend to have a long soak in the bath by candlelight. During this time of stillness and solitude, I can turn off the world and tune into myself. Thanks Blip for reminding me of the tranquil and restorative light of candles!
