Bridges

We were meeting someone in Florence today, so we caught the train into Santa Maria Novella. It was a perfect day, warm sunshine (but not too hot), fresh clean air (not sultry and polluted as it often is), pleasantly busy (but not uncomfortably crowded as it is in the middle of the summer) and the whole city centre was closed to traffic, as there was a big international cycling event along the River Arno and around the Duomo. The Italians take cycling very seriously :-))

We even found a vintage watch dealer who had a model that Mr HCB had been looking for, at about one third of the British price, so he is one happy bunny as well!

The river was fairly still so there were some good reflections. The nearer bridge is Santa Trinita, with the Ponte Vecchio beyond.
