On the hunt today for a card for mum and dad's wedding anniversary and look what I found!

Awwww!

We as a family have an affection for golden cocker spaniels ever since we had one of our own - Honey! For those who know us, Honey was so special and at the risk of sounding cheesy, she really did complete our family! If anything, that little ball of fur curled up on my knee and the darkest in her litter, cured my fear of dogs! As a thank-you for choosing her, she provided us with years of love, fun, laughter, affection and true companionship, especially when mum was going through treatment - Honey was at her side.

But eventually, like all pedigrees, she gave in to ill health and we had to let her go in 2009. I was still at uni but asked mum and dad to let her go at home because she'd always hated the vets - it was a place which she like many animals feared and I didn't want that. And so they did.

We still miss her but we like to think that she's running around in doggie heaven chasing 'birdies' playing with her football and carrying her cracker toy around with her wherever she goes, trying to find the best place to leave it that isn't dad's newly planted flowerbeds! haha!
