Oil be darned

I managed to get round to opening our new worktop tonight and begin the prep for fitting.

I think I'm going to enjoy looking after this lovely big piece of wood. There's something immensely satisfying about watching the colour and finish change as I go.

Let's just hope the new joiner turns up tomorrow. The first one seems to have become familiarly elusive. What the hell is it with workmen?
