Bubbles

I really enjoy my job, and I work with a great bunch of people, but it's nice to get away sometimes and in the past week I haven't thought about work at all. The result of this was that I had a visitor who arrived at 9 am this morning who I had completely forgotten about. Fortunately she is very cool and was happily waiting outside with a fag when I pulled up (a little late) on my bike. Her research involves the analysis of soil, which is a very challenging material from a chemist's point of view.

Bubbles of CO2 in a carbonated drink like to form on imperfections in surfaces - this might suggest that I have an almost perfect wine glass but I think this is unlikely!
