Pied Billed Grebes

These little marsh dwellers are very skittish. Luckily I was in the right place at the right time (Bugsie had pulled over for a #2), when they swam out from behind the cat-tails. I thought it was a male and female, but my bird buddies in the department tell me an adult and juvenile. Cool, but maybe a little late in the season to be raising young 'uns???
