Shenzhen: Any Port in a Storm

Except Shenzhen Shekou Port.

The mission this evening was to meet the in-laws off the 6.30pm Hong Kong International Airport ferry. Having arrived at 6.30pm I expected it to be quiet as the ferry would not arrive until 7.00pm. But it remained quiet.

Too quiet.

I eventually found the little sign posted up at the ticket office tucked away in the corner which announced all ferries from Hong Kong International Airport were cancelled due to Typhoon Usagi - which didn't blow us away today, despite school being cancelled and all that jazz.

I also eventually found the in-laws who had managed to work out a bus to the border and a taxi to our apartment compound. Not bad for aging first-timers to Shenzhen!

I need a drink.

Oh, and school's on tomorrow...
