And so: To Autumn

'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;'
John Keats

We are now officially in autumn and the signs are beginning to show all around us. Harvest festivals are being celebrated at schools and churches all around the country and the colours of summer are giving way to the reds, oranges, yellows and brows of autumn.

I spotted this cluster of toadstools in a patch of common grassland this morning - the cooler, damper weather has obviously encouraged them to grow. Trouble is, there are so many toadstools packed in to this little patch, that there's not mushroom for anything else (Boom! Boom!).
