Waiting and Watching
The siege by terrorists enters its third day. There is very little else on people's minds. We were shocked at the photo found on the front cover of the paper yesterday - a woman covered with blood in complete shock screaming for help. We were thrilled to see that the MD of the paper made a public apology. Meanwhile the newscasters continue to speak for hours on end about the same thing...and still manage to fill the air time.
Thank you all for your concern, your thoughts and prayers. What is amazing is the way in which Kenyans are rallying together to handle this situation. Yesterday we saw concerned Kenyans driving as close as they could to the scene and then open their cars to start cooking food for the police and military. Other people donated blood both in Nairobi and Mombasa while still others donated money. The politicians put aside their squabbling to speak with unity and tribalism has all but been put aside. It is so heart warming and encouraging to see how, in the end, there is a lot of love to go around.
I am at home today. We thought it would be difficult to get to Daniel's school as the route we take runs near the area of the mall. We are sure that everyone from this side of town will use the small back roads to get to town making it a bit futile to take a 3 year old to play for a few hours. Njambi had an ear ache so we thought it best to have her stay home and rest and Papa is simply tired.
The rain fell last night making these beautiful drops on the clothes line outside our window. I am sure I have blipped this before but cannot get enough of these lil drops.
...continue to keep us in your prayers and thoughts...
