Deck visitor....

We came across this friendly visitor today and were quite surprised by his size. The web has been here for quite some time but I had never seen the spider until today. He had about three bees all wound up in his web. It was pretty crazy. I had to manipulate the spider to get him out of his hiding hole, and this is a picture of him after I put him back so he could go to bed! All the other pics I took, he was all crunched up, pretending to be dead so I wouldn't hurt him.

We had a crazy day today... and a rough evening with a fit throwing 4 year old... but all is quiet now and I'm looking forward to climbing into bed.
