Catch a wave

This surfer was 'catching the waves' down at Dores this afternoon, speeding along Lochness in the sunshine. It was interesting to watch as it seemed quite difficult to get the sail in the right position and then to get on the board without falling off but they were soon on and whizzing along.
We watched whilst eating toffee icecream with chocolate sauce from the small shed outside The Dores Inn. MMM, tasty :)

We had taken Richard to ASDA to pick up a blu ray player and surround sound system which he had treated himself to in the sale. I needed some Winter clothes and was really pleased as they had some very warm gilet/body warmers much cheaper than the ones in M and S. Also bought a few tops and trousers and glove/mittens. Mike also managed to get some jeans, a jumper and scarf. All set for a cold Winter now :)

As it was the Autumn Equinox we thought we would make the most of the change in seasons and go for a drive through the mountains. The light was nt too good to start with but as we returned to Lochness the sun came out providing some stunning views.

The beech trees are starting to drop their leaves leaving a golden edge to the roads, Rowan trees are laden with berries and the sun is low in the sky providing interesting light.

One unusual thing today was seeing a broom in the middle of the A9 hope someone managed to move it !

Back home for a cuppa in the Hobby House, reading my Landscape mag about water voles and watching the boats sail around the bay. Not a bad Sunday hope you've had a good one too :)
