Helix Park

Spent an over cast afternoon walking around Helix Park - this is a much anticipated project which has transformed an area between Falkirk and Grangemouth which is surrounded by industry into a park to be enjoyed by local people. It opened last weekend and thanks to a sunny day got off to a great start with huge crowds enjoying their first look around. Today it wasn't quite as busy but there were certainly lots of people dog walking, cycling, scooting and enjoying the afternoon. Together with the park it's self the council have, over the last couple of years improved and built a new network of paths all over the Falkirk area so you can walk or cycle to it with minimal travel along major roads. I was a little cynical at first but judging from the people making use of it today it will be an asset to the area and hopefully will continue to be well used.
