Diary of an Edinburgher

Size isn't everything

JR is expressing doubts about the suitability of the TV… It is indeed rather large and looming when switched off, but it’s wonderfully engaging when big, crisp coloured images are moving about on screen. The solution is to always have it on!

I must say, HD shows up all the dandruff and spots on people, which is not really such a good thing. Though I was demonstrating how good HD was by flipping between HD and ordinary (whatever that’s called) and JR exclaimed how marvellous it was, indeed. Except that it was the wrong one she enthused over - she didn’t have her specs on!

It was positively balmy today when we went for a walk (via our new house, funnily enough) across the Links. I spied a lady untangling a kite and hung around for a while. When she eventually got it untangled, I asked if I could take some photos - she was happy for me to click away, and I’ll send her some.

She was actually more keen on kiting than the wee lad. On re-reading that I should hasten to rephrase that she was more keen to get the kite flying, the wee lad was happy on his bike... The breeze was swirling around a bit, which made it difficult I think. This run was probably the most successful. The wee lad didn’t see it…

Went for coffee and a magnificent scone. Plenty of butter and jam (some places are mean). Just beside us were a young couple about to tuck into huge meals - he had an everything breakfast on a huge plate, and she had eggs florentine, which JR declares to be the best in town in this cafe. Before I could stop myself - or more accurately, before JR could stop me - I asked if could take a photo (‘New camera…’ etc) and they posed happily for me. I’ll send them one as well.

Back for a fiddle with the TV. I’m trying to link the computer and the iPad to it, but it’s outfoxing me. I may resort to just watching the America’s Cup on the red button, if I can find it.

I love technology!

PS Was rather delighted to spot an empty shop in a prime corner position is being kitted out as a Nardini's Ice Cream Parlour! How very exciting!
