Solace Day 1: Waiting

Our journey down to the marina was annoyingly long!

This was an unusual journey to the narrowboat in that, Chippy, having dropped us off at the marina with his dog and luggage, was driving down to Southampton with his Land Rover to get a Dormobile conversion done while he doesn't need the car.

We had allowed enough time but an overturned lorry caused delays at Shap, then we had to leave the motorway at J19 because of the motorway being closed J16 - J15. We were late arriving at the marina and Chippy was so late getting down-country that he had to catch a later train back. Thank you trip-advisor Kat for getting the insurance on the tickets when you sorted them for us!

So, here we are: me, The Man, The Mother and Ash on the boat at Great Haywood waiting for Chippy's train to get him back here. There's the train, travelling left!
