Did You Know ....

...... that a swan's eyelids are fluffy and that they open downwards?

Daughter has a performance in a few weeks with her acting group so they have extra rehearsals. This gave me the chance to have a wander around the Uni campus to take some photos. The water level is very low and this swan was actually lying on the ground in front of the little jetty. It was very sleepy and I was able to get very close by standing on the jetty. I was actually a bit concerned as it saw me but didn't move at all well, only an eyelid moved. No need to worry. As the canoes raced along the loch and got nearer the boathouse it got up and returned to the water.

Daughter is going from acting to dinner and the cinema so I have a good few hours to myself before I need to collect her. As there is a limited bus service on a Sunday (and not a great rural service anyway) I don't yet know which of the villages I will need to go to collect her. I have a feeling I will end up having to go back to Stirling.
