Concert
I rode with a friend to Ann Arbor to see Daniel Johnston. My friend played bass in a rather makeshift band for Johnston; he also backed up the opening musician, another friend of ours. A third friend also played guitar during both sets and served (as he often does) as Johnston's band director.
Johnston's shows are interesting to say the least, as he can't really sing and he can't play guitar very well. But his songs are generally pretty good. Although he is probably late 40s, he regularly draws a very young crowd.
He is somewhat of a cult figure. I highly recommend viewing the DVD The Devil And Daniel Johnston for the guy's story.
This guitar belongs to a fifteen-year-old phenomenon who was also part of the band.
