Holidays are for something naughty but ......nice!

We are holidaying at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire at a site in woodland once part of Sherwood Forest. Clumber Park itself is ran by the National Trust so the surroundings are lovely with avenues of trees now changing in colours and this weekend has turned out to be an unexpected weekend of treats!

It was the 'Great Taste Festival of Food & Drink' held in the grounds of Clumber Park. From cookery demonstrations by John Burton Race to a tent full of `great taste award' winners displaying their goods with plentiful tasters to try it was a great afternoon. The venue was a large field in with many a marquee but one happy memory of today was sitting on haybales laid out as seating, eating a smoked bbq gourmet burger in the sunshine with lots of happy people surrounded by food & drink stalls of all kinds from cocktail stalls to cupcakes whilst listening to live music in a marquee lined with colourful bunting.

One treat of the day (together with award winning passion fruit & mango and caramel ice creams) was a cupcake or two. A couple of varieties came back to the caravan with us and were enjoyed back on the site with a lovely cuppa in the sunshine. Mmmm - Chocolate & Guiness and White Chocolate & Raspberry. Lovely!!!

Now nearer to a wifi signal (having moved pitches to a slightly sunnier spot) it may mean that I can blip a little more though for the first week we havent strayed far at all due to poor mobility but if someone were to dangle an award winning cupcake for me to follow then ............... who knows where I will go!!
