BTCC legend

So today I bought a new car. Traded in the manual Volvo for an automatic I'm sitting in the showroom briefly waiting for my salesman and one of his colleagues offers me a coffee. He opens up a cupboard under the machine and starts rummaging for strong coffee capsules for the fancy coffee machine. As I'm looking at him I put 2 and 2 together and get a massive 4. So I say 'Are you a race car driver?' 'Yes' replies the man. No other than John Clelland!!!!! It turns out he owns the garage in Galashiels. I used to watch John racing the British Touring Cars Championships in the 80's and 90's. I never ever forgot Steve Soper taking out John in the final race of 1992 allowing Sopers teammate Tim Harvey to take the title from John. One of the most outrageous pieces of driving I ever saw. We had a great natter about those days, and his current role in WTCC (World Series) as a driving standards steward
