Mammoet PTC Ring Crane.

PTC is 'Platform Twin Ringed Containerised' and is basically a HUGE crane which will lift the large component I photographed back on March 24 (if you care to look back at my pics) which is going into Stanlow Refinery. Mammoet are a global Crane and Heavy Transport firm.

Each part of the crane breaks down into standard shipping container-sized pieces to allow it to be transported and shipped much more easily. It's an amazing piece of Dutch engineering. Even the ballast weights are made up of containers which get filled with local gravel or sand to save having to ship enormously heavy ballast weights around the globe.
