Taking Shelter
Been making the most of the dry weather since we came back from Manchester to catch up with the gardening. Yesterday it was grass cutting and today it was hedge trimming. Not my favourite job as the hedge is about 25 metres long and 2 metres high, meaning you have to hold the petrol hedge cutter above your head much of the time, which is rather sore on the arms. Never mind, MrsB was on hand to help clear up the cuttings and get the job done in just over 2 hours.
The sun never appeared today and by early afternoon there was a light drizzle that added to the sense of gloom. Quite surprised to see a number of bumble bees on a particular plant. They looked slow and lethargic and possibly about to die. However, this one still had the strength to hang on upside down under a leaf, as well as the sense to find a bit of shelter from the light rain. Go LARGE and see some of the raindrops on its hair.
You know the days are drawing in when you have to use flash to get a wee macro shot!
