Argentine Anteater
This little anteater is about 2 inches nose to tail and was carved for me by an native artist from the very North West of Argentina in where the forest meets the desert.
It is carved from sandalwood with a black walnut inlay.
The colors are a delight with the subtle shades of green and brown and the smell of the sandalwood is amazing even after 3 years.

about the blip :
The photograph was taken in my studio using a light box and superimposing the image on black matte background.
This is an experimental technique I'm developing so I hope it meets the blipfoto criteria.
There were some spots of light showing through so I had to edit them out. The original file was a .png file and then converted to jpeg.
The exif data is D700 1/125 f4 50mm macro 08/17/2009 11.43am.
