SMALL
Didn't feel too good yesterday and this morning - and I think that fasting and not drinking enough was the cause. However, we needed to do some shopping, and unusually for me, I didn't have much motivation to take any photographs for my blip today, so this little Chinese Shar Pei puppy, called Leo, fitted the bill for SMALL in HeartFreek's September Challenge. I asked his owner for permission to snap him and he was happy to let me do so.
The Shar Pei, or Chinese Shar-Pei, is a breed of dog known for its distinctive features of deep wrinkles and a blue-black tongue. The breed comes from China. The English name, probably derived from the British spelling of the Cantonese equivalent, sā pèih, translates to "sand skin" and refers to the texture of its short, rough coat. As puppies, Shar Pei have numerous wrinkles, but as they mature, these wrinkles loosen and spread out as they "grow into their skin".
Interesting that this happens the other way round in human beings!
Have a great weekend, fellow blippers and you may need to get out your winter woollies before long - it's quite chilly today!
