Robin's Pincushion
It's not a flower or a fruit, it's a growth on a dog rose caused by larvae of a gall wasp which live in the hardened centre of the gall. It is green at first but acquires a reddish tint with maturity in autumn.
The larvae of gall wasp creates various shapes of galls depending on the host plant.
