Drip Drop
A storm is making its way through Thailand. Usually rainy season entails heavy rainstorms that last a few minutes to a few hours before the sun comes back out, drys everything up, and its hot again. The past few days have been different. The sun has gone on vacation. I haven't seen it at all. Instead we've had mostly light showers all day and all night. Hence, the umbrella that snuck its way into my shot.
There are some benefits. It's a lot easier to get around during light rain showers in comparison to heavy, fire-hose shooting from the sky storms. It's also been cooler because of the sun's vacation. This has been incredibly nice.
On the flip side, enough light showers eventually equals a heavy storm, which has resulted in minor flooding in some areas. Mostly it just means needing to slosh through some big puddles on the way to the market or watch out to avoid a car splash as it drives by. Just about everyone is wearing their rain-shoes, which are usually a pair of old, plastic sandals because there's no way to avoid getting wet.
