La bergère

Here is Magali, our local shepherdess, with this year's lamb number 6, born yesterday. Its ungracious mother walked off and left it, so it's being bottlefed in the barn. "I'm not going to get attached to it!" warned Magali unconvincingly, as we took turns to tickle its soft little ears and chuck it under the chin. Lambs are so cute, it's hard to believe they turn into big blundering sheep!
