Bush Clematis / puawhanganga (Clematis paniculata)

Now this has been a mission! I haven't managed to find any vines with their flowers close to the ground. So I got PJ to take the ladder that is used for tree pruning down to the big manuka tree. I climbed up the ladder, got PJ to hand the camera to me, then I pulled the bunch of flowers towards me, and took the photo. PJ was on the ground taking photos of me up the ladder on his phone, as he said I could blip them if my flowers didn't turn out ok.
I couldn't get any closer, so this has been cropped quite severely.
We took the dogs for a walk this afternoon, and got just home as it started to rain, very shortly afterwards the thunder and lightening started. Still going (I've got the laptop on it's battery), have unplugged the other things.
Another day of racing in the morning for the America's Cup....... here's hoping Team New Zealand win!!
