There was snow on the Rocky Mountains yesterday. That's their first of the season. It's about a 6 hour drive east of me but another indication that summer is certainly done. All the windows were closed in the house last night. I try to postpone turning on the furnace as long as possible. It is the final admission that winter is near. I have long lost my love of winter. I've been planning my escape for weeks.
