Autumn?

Stepping off the plane in Pisa this afternoon was like stepping back from autumn into summer - puffy while clouds in a blue sky and 28 degrees :-))

There are signs of autumn though. We sat out with a glass of wine watching the sun set at 7.15 - so much earlier than a month ago. And the pool temperature has dropped from 26 to 21 degrees - my pre-breakfast dip will be quite bracing. And the trees are covered with fruit. The wild boar have attacked the fig trees, but who can blame them when the figs are so luscious, and there are plenty for all of us. I found this little beetle on a pomegranate that had split open in the recent rain - he's so colourful!
