Togetherness

His Lordship and I celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary today; not an eye watering number of years compared with our previous lives, but still a testament to our commitment to making second marriages work.

We met 19 years ago on adjacent running machines in the gym, which made for a breathless introduction. After a few hamster like miles over the next few weeks, HL suggested I would like it better if I ran in the open air. And so it was round Arthur's Seat we went..... several times. The rest is history as they say.

We continued running round Arthur's Seat and then completed 2 London Marathons, with a romantic proposal at the end of the second one, before marrying and spending our honey moon running the New York Marathon.

Since then we have run, cycled, camped, argued, laughed, cried, fallen out, made up and adjusted to our different personalities. We have not killed each other; in fact he has become my best friend and constant companion (except when he's communing with the sheep on them thar hills on a Wednesday). He is my rock and I am his chief cook and bottle washer.

We are enjoying these bus pass years to the full, still hoping to celebrate our silver wedding.

Edit: I am being unchained from the stove tonight so that he can take me out for a meal.
