Rowan Berries

Over the last month I've noticed the weight of berries on rowan trees is something quite spectacular. Branches are quite literally bending under the weight of the berries. When I was young it was commonly said that the greater the number of berries on the trees in autumn, the harsher the winter ahead! I certainly hope this isn't the case this year!
