Without a Trace- a campaign for arsenic free water
Black spots on the hands and feet can be one of the signs of arsenic poisoning but it can take years of drinking contaminated water before these symptoms manifest. About 50% of people have no warning signs before they become seriously ill.
Arsenic contamination of water is widespread in Bangladesh. Arsenic cannot be seen, smelled or tasted but long-term exposure causes skin lesions and serious illness, including cancer. Ultimately it can be fatal.
Today we launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise enough money to distribute SONO Arsenic Filters to people living in 10 villages in Chuadanga District, an area which is severely affected by arsenic in groundwater.
