A staircase in the Lakes

Still in the Windermere Centre. This is one of three lovely staircases. The surprising thing is that this was at one time a manse. A wealthy industrialist by the name of Carver put down roots in Windermere because it was the end of the train line from Manchester. He not only built his house there - he also built a church in 1880. And this manse. Which became a Conference Centre.
