Look Mum- No Wings!

Honeybee, the real one, not the fake one from yesterday. Apis mellifera, the European honeybee. Today I noticed the pollen bags for the first time this season. Until now they have been noticeably absent.

In the last two days I have cut a lot of firewood, with chainsaw and axe, to build up my supply of ready to use wood. Also I have been working on removing long grass from one of my vegetable plots. Very hard work. The Met Service is predicting several days of rain starting soon. I'm trying to make hay while the sun shines. I just wish that I had as much energy as this wee bee.
