I'm your Venus......

.......and thank goodness for that. I found Venus almost 14 years ago. Venus are a charity in Sefton that support women and families. They supported me through an incredibly difficult time after the death of my older brother in january 2000. I also struggled with mental health difficulties for many years, and luckily I had them to help me through that time.

I started there as a volunteer shortly after I went as a service user and that led me to a very fulfilling career in the voluntary sector. Venus will always be very valuable to me, as they were the gateway to who I am today, a happy and confident person.

This is a fabulous picture of some of the amazing Venus team at the David Traynor Spirit Medium fundraiser I organised. It took place at The Plaza Community Cinema in Crosby. This picture was taken by an awesome photographer, Ashe McDonald, who volunteered his time to capture the spirit of the evening.
