Morecambe Bay

Some family members met up today to be involved in scattering my mother's ashes in Morecambe Bay, where my father's ashes were scattered 4 years ago. It was the most difficult morning we could have chosen with gale-force winds and driving rain, and a number of relatives in their 80s. We very soon sought refuge in the wonderful Albion pub in Arnside and enjoyed a very good meal and family catch-up. Later in the day, when the weather had improved considerably, I was able to take a walk on my own along the edge of the bay as the light faded - a much better way for me to simply remember my mother and draw her life to a peaceful close.
