Bamboo For The Pandas!!
I started my Garden Design course today which is all very exciting. After matriculating we went straight out on our first visit which was to Edinburgh Zoo. Here we were guided round the horticultural delights of the Zoo by the Head Gardener and 'Head of Plants and Sustainability'-who look after the 3500 species of plants over the 90 acre site. As you can imagine this was a fascinating tour, and we were allowed to peek at the animals as well as the plants.
The Head Gardener was a little distracted as he was receiving delivery of 3000 Bamboo plants from Holland. They will be planted in a nursery at the top end of The Zoo, and should help feed those hungry pandas. We were there for this special delivery.
