That's enough, thanks
Storms gave our region a hiding overnight. When I drove to Moruya this morning I could see ample evidence . . . trees down, some flooding, angry seas. A number of road accidents, too, one serious enough to block the highway from Canberra and oblige my daughter to postpone her trip down to visit her Mum in hospital. The upside is that the farmers are happy, because they had had no significant rainfall since June; the highest figure recorded today was at Plumwood, Moruya - 205mm in the 24 hours to 9am.
Mrs D said she was feeling a bit miserable this morning, but who wouldn't the day after major surgery. I confined myself simply to "being there", and after she'd had a sleep she felt well enough to listen to me read messages for her from friends.
The hospital is set on the banks of the Moruya River, and, when I took time out for a waterside saunter, this bedraggled Willie wagtail and I agreed it was good to see the rain easing off.
