Second
That's my second deadly beast found in the garden. I listened to good advice of the locals and checked out my garden bench, upside down and in little holes for screws. Treating all hidden places with rather poisonous surface spray, I found this little fellow in a little hole. He didn't have any chances and although dead, I still handled it in thick marigolds and with a matchstick.
No idea why nature gave us such a bad creature, but at least it's marked well, so we can avoid it.
PS
I had to buy another tin of the spray in readiness for more spidery and other insecty surprises. It works out half a tin per one redback so far. One can never be to careful.
